And no don't dye your hair, it's nice the way it is
I usually use Clairol Natural Instincts, it is semi-permanent, so it fades out over time. That way, no grow out. I am constantly coloring my hair, and it never fries it, or gives me rashes...or anything weird like that. It also comes with a delicious conditioner that I make last a super long time because it is just too yummy.
